ScoutIQ Settings Tab

A detailed explanation and visual walkthrough of the Settings Tab in ScoutIQ & ScoutIQ 2.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

This is an overview of each section of the Settings section of ScoutIQ:

And ScoutIQ 2:

Amazon Account

In the ScoutIQ 2 app, the first section of the Settings Tab allows you to Connect Your Amazon Pro-Seller Account directly from the app. This article details the process.

Preferences/ App Controls

The second section in ScoutIQ 2 and the first section in ScoutIQ original is where you control your app preferences.

ScoutIQ:

ScoutIQ 2:

Always Awake:
Enable this setting to prevent your phone's display from sleeping while you're using the app. This ensures that the app stays active during your scouting sessions.

Audio Cues:
Turn on the Audio setting if you prefer audio cues while scouting, so you don't need to constantly check your phone's screen. We offer three distinct sounds:

  • Short bell sound: Indicates your triggers have rejected the book.

  • Happy ringing sound: Indicates your triggers have accepted the book.

  • Angry buzzer sound: Indicates no data was found for the scanned barcode. This could mean the item isn't in the database or isn't a book.

If you have Wholesale Integration and Wholesale Audio Cues enabled, you’ll hear a short bell sound followed by a high-pitched beep if a book is rejected by regular triggers, but has a buyback price higher than your cost.

Note: Please be considerate and use headphones when using audio cues in public places like libraries or stores. If I catch you scanning books at full volume without headphones, we might just have to revoke your subscription! (Just kidding… or are we?)

Vibration:
If you prefer or want to add a vibration alert for Accept notifications, enable the Vibrate setting. On some phone models, you may need to adjust your phone's volume or a separate vibration setting for this feature to work correctly.

ISBN Searches Only:
For those scouting exclusively for books, this setting helps streamline the process. Enabling it prevents the Multiple Results screen from appearing if you accidentally scan a UPC instead of an ISBN, ensuring a smoother and faster scouting experience. Non-book scans will trigger a Reject signal, allowing you to move on quickly. Keep this setting toggled OFF if you want to use Title searches.

Lock Screen:
This option is handy if you’re scanning with your phone in your pocket. It prevents your phone from accidentally switching apps, ensuring uninterrupted scouting.

Database

In ScoutIQ 2, for Seller 365 and LivePro ScoutIQ Standalone Subscribers, the next section is where you will find the database download button. For more information on downloading the database, read this article.

Scanning Mode

ScoutIQ offers three scanning modes designed to balance speed, accuracy, and connectivity, so you can scout effectively no matter where you are.

ScoutIQ:

ScoutIQ 2:

Quick rule of thumb:

  • No signal → Database Only

  • Weak signal → Data + Live

  • Strong signal → Live Only

For a full breakdown of when and why to use each mode, check out this article.

Note: This section will only appear on your app if you are subscribed to Seller 365 ($69/month) or a ScoutIQ Standalone LivePro Plan ($44/month or $432/year). With a Live Plan ($14/month or $120/year), your phone will always be in Live Only mode.

Custom Link:

The next section in both ScoutIQ and ScoutIQ 2 is the Custom Link Section. The Custom Link feature allows you to add personalized links that can be accessed by clicking the chain link icon at the bottom of the scout screen. Here are some pre-filled options.

ScoutIQ:

ScoutIQ 2:

You can select from the prefilled options on the dropdown menu or add a custom link of your choosing:

  • eBay Sold: Check what an item has sold for on eBay, useful for items with limited Amazon data or unusual pricing.

  • eBay Active: Look up other related items on eBay to sell alongside your scanned item.

  • Bookfinder.com: View offers from various websites, aggregating data from www.bookfinder.com.

  • AddALL: Similar to Bookfinder, but shows listings from www.addall.com.

  • Custom: Add a Keepa link to view Keepa data with the chain link icon. Although, we now offer ChartIQ for free, which tracks similar information at no extra cost. If you have a Keepa subscription, this guide provides detailed instructions for adding Keepa as a custom link.

No Offer Customizatons

In ScoutIQ 2, the next section of the Settings Tab is No Offer Customization. This feature gives you control over how items are handled when pricing data is missing or no offers are available. You can choose to automatically accept or reject these items, or apply a custom default price so they’re still included in your profit analysis. This feature is not available in the original ScoutIQ app.

ScoutIQ Integrations allow you to see alternative monetization options while scanning, including guaranteed wholesale buyback offers and consignment opportunities. These integrations are especially useful for bulk sourcing, low-cost books, or items you can’t (or don’t want to) list on Amazon.

Integrations must be enabled here in the Settings Tab to appear on the scout screen.

World of Books (WOB) & BooksRun (BR) — Wholesale

ScoutIQ partners with World of Books and BooksRun to provide instant cash buyback offers during scanning.

Restricted Inventory (RI)* — Consignment

For the full breakdown of how these integrations work, check out this article.

* Important Note: The World of Books integration is available in ScoutIQ original and ScoutIQ 2. The BooksRun and Restricted Inventory integrations are only available in the ScoutIQ 2 app.

Wholesale Audio Cues:

When enabled, this setting triggers a different Accept tone if your regular triggers reject a book but WOB offers a buyback price higher than your cost.

Logout Button & App Version

The last section of the Settings Tab in both ScoutIQ and ScoutIQ 2 contains a Logout Button. Below that you will find the app version. This will be important when reporting any bug or issue to the Support Team.
