Hidden Mode for Secondary Users

A detailed explanation and visual walkthrough of Hidden Mode in ScoutIQ and ScoutIQ 2

Updated today

Hidden Mode allows you to control how much information your secondary users (team members) can see while scanning, making it ideal for building a sourcing team without exposing your margins.

ScoutIQ 2 (Recommended)

In ScoutIQ 2, Hidden Mode has been simplified to focus on fast, clear decision-making:

What your user sees

Instead of checkmarks or Xs, ScoutIQ 2 uses full-screen color feedback:

  • 🟒 Green Accept banner β†’ Buy the item

  • πŸ”΄ Red Reject banner β†’ Skip the item

  • 🟠 Accept but Restricted screen β†’ Item meets criteria, but has restrictions

Key differences in ScoutIQ 2

  • Buy Cost is editable
Secondary users can enter a Buy Cost directly in the app.

  • Buy List access is available
Hidden Mode users can still add items to and use the Buy List, making it easier to track sourcing decisions.

ScoutIQ

In the original ScoutIQ app, Hidden Mode limits what the user sees by simplifying the scan results:

  • A large Green checkmark for Accept

  • A large Red X for Reject

This prevents secondary users from viewing detailed profitability data while still allowing them to follow your sourcing rules.

Hidden Mode is especially useful for paid scouts or team members who are not responsible for evaluating profitability on their own.

When to Use Hidden Mode

Hidden Mode is a great fit when:

  • You want to protect your margins and sourcing strategy

  • You’re working with paid scouts or new team members

  • You need your team to follow triggers, not analyze data

If your team member is a partner or someone you trust to make deeper decisions, you may prefer to turn Hidden Mode off so they can see full scan data.

Toggling Hidden Mode ON and OFF

By default, secondary user accounts will be in hidden mode. This can be Toggled Off in the Threecolts Manager for ScoutIQ standalone Subscribers and in the Threecolts Hub for Seller 365 Subscribers by tapping on the ScoutIQ Product.

From the menu on the left, select the icon that looks like a group of people, Teams will appear when you hover over this area. You should also see a Red #, indicating that action is required:

Tap Teams and a list of your secondary users will appear. Just slide over the Blue Toggle next to the Secondary User you which to change to take them out of Hidden Mode:

Important Note: Your secondary user may need to log out of the app and log back in to see their app change out of hidden mode.
