How to Manage a ScoutIQ 2 Buy List

Learn how to create and manage Buy Lists in ScoutIQ 2 so you can organize sourced inventory and streamline your workflow.

Updated this week

Creating a Buy List

Before you start sourcing, create a new Buy List in ScoutIQ2. You can have several Active Buy Lists. Some users create a Buy List for each Source/Supplier, others for each type of item, and others like to have every item sourced in a day on the same list.

Important Note: If you sell both Merchant Fulfilled (MF) and Fulfilled By Amazon (FBA) it is important that each Buy List created only pertains to one fufillment method. This will matter when it's time to import your Buy List into InventoryLab.

First, tap the Buy List tab in the bottom navigation.

Tap Add New.

A name will automatically populate using the date and time (for example: Buy List 11-Mar-2026-01:51:47).

You can keep the default name or change it to something more specific to your business, a store/source name, the name of the scout etc.

Tap Submit and the green 'Buy list created successfully' will show along the bottom of the screen.

Your Buy List is now available to update from the ScoutIQ 2 Scout Screen using the Add to Buy List Workflow.

Editing A Buy List Name

If you wish to Edit the name of a Buy List after it has been created, just tap the three dot "kabob" menu next to it:

Then select Edit from the menu that appears:

This will re-open the List Name for you to edit as you choose:

Active Buy Lists

When you click on the Buy List tab along the bottom navigation you will see two tabs Active and Archived.

Your Active Buy Lists are those that you are able to add to in the Add to Buy List Workflow from the ScoutIQ 2 Scout Screen:

Archived Buy Lists

Archived Buy Lists are lists you’re no longer actively using, meaning you don’t intend to add more items to them. In most cases, these are Buy Lists you’ve already exported for listing.

To archive a Buy List, tap the three dot "kabob menu" next to the list you wish to archive:

Then select Archive:

Tapping Archive will bring up a dialogue asking you to confirm your choice:

Once you confirm by tapping Yes, Archive the Buy List, the selected Buy List will be removed from the Active tab and moved to the Archived tab:

Once Archived, tapping the three dot "kabob menu" next to the Archived Buy List will provide you with the option to Unarchive a Buy List, adding it back to the Active tab, if you like:

Deleting a Buy List

Deleting a Buy List can be done either from the Active tab or the Arichived tab by tapping the three dot "kabob menu" next to the list you wish to delete:

On the Active tab you will find the option to Delete under the Archive option:

On the Archived tab you will find it under the Unarchive option:

Deleted Buy Lists are permanently deleted and cannot be restored. Tapping Delete on either tab brings up a dialogue box for your to confirm your choice by tapping Yes, Delete this Buy List:

Next Steps

Once your Buy List has been created and organized, you’re ready to download it when it’s time to begin listing. For step-by-step instructions, see How to Download/Export a ScoutIQ 2 Buy List.
